Ancianos, meaning “elders” in Spanish, has been crafted to honor the legacy of our vineyard founders. Our vineyard, Rancho Tierra Rejada, was originally planted in 1973 and is one of the most historic vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA. The meticulous planning it took decades ago is a testament to the foresight of its founders.
It is quite firm on the palate but the masses of spicy fruit and balancing oak compliment the grip nicely. The color is deep and intense reflecting the wine’s brooding nature. Bright natural acidity will ensure this wine ages for many years.
El Pasado, meaning “the past” in Spanish has been crafted to honor and continue the legacy of our vineyard, Rancho Tierra Rejada. Originally planted in 1973, our vineyard is one of the oldest commercial vineyards in Paso Robles. The meticulous planning and development it took decades ago is a testament to the foresight of its founders.
The 2017 Limited Release Grenache has some spicy notes but with strawberry fruit in the background. We used neutral oak to allow the fruit to present itself naturally. This wine pairs well with lamb, or lighter meats, but is versatile enough to handle some richer foods as well.
