Our Winemaker, Chris Cameron, has designed a program “The Limited Release range” produced from small, individual parcels of fruit, each with their own personality, that display distinctive varietal character. As the name suggests, they are limited in quantity and may differ in style (& availability ) from vintage to vintage and are only available through our Wine Club, Tasting Room and our website.
Another hallmark of this variety is its ability to retain its flavor even when it is chilled, offering both a refreshing beverage and an exciting wine to pair many types of food with, seafood especially.
This wine presents a clean clarity, with a gentle shade of straw. On the nose, grapefruit peel and green tea leaf. With low to medium acidity and alcohol levels, the balance of the wine prepares the palate for citrus fruit, and a long finish with lingering minerality.
Ancianos, meaning “elders” in Spanish, has been crafted to honor the legacy of our vineyard founders. Our vineyard, Rancho Tierra Rejada, was originally planted in 1973 and is one of the most historic vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA. The meticulous planning it took decades ago is a testament to the foresight of its founders.
El Pasado, meaning “the past” in Spanish has been crafted to honor and continue the legacy of our vineyard, Rancho Tierra Rejada. Originally planted in 1973, our vineyard is one of the oldest commercial vineyards in Paso Robles. The meticulous planning and development it took decades ago is a testament to the foresight of its founders.
The 2017 Limited Release Grenache has some spicy notes but with strawberry fruit in the background. We used neutral oak to allow the fruit to present itself naturally. This wine pairs well with lamb, or lighter meats, but is versatile enough to handle some richer foods as well.
