Immediately on the nose blueberries and raspberries abound. The subtle, smoky oak lingers in the background with hints of anise sneaking through. The bouquet alone leaves you eager for more and the palate does not disappoint. It exhibits “juiciness” of fruit with mouth-watering red berries dominating. While the wine would be considered of ‘middle’ weight, the sheer presence of so much flavor is surprising.
The tannins are soft but make their presence known, providing a clean finish to support the great length of flavor. Oak is evident but only used in a supporting role so not to take the spotlight off the flavors.
