Our Vin de Vie, the Wine of Life, is a very unique product made by adding high quality, barrel-aged brandy spirit to juice from Grenache grapes. The juice is not fermented and provides the fresh, lifted flavors and aromas along with the mouth-filling residual sugar.
The style is technically called a “Mistella” but is classified by the TTB as an “Angelica.”
Vin de Vie is perfect chilled for a refreshing aperitif or can be drunk at room temperature as a dessert wine. The bright, natural acidity of the fruit nicely balances the grape’s sweetness. At 17.7% alcohol, it has ideal warmth on the palate. We are still learning of creative new ways the Vin de Vie is consumed, like pouring over ice cream or adding to Champagne.
Pairs well with fresh fruit, a variety of fruit tarts, or a slice of sumptuously rich chocolate cake.
