Violet and red, but slightly transparent, this is a luscious red wine to lust after. The aroma is dominated by blackcurrants, which is typically for a Cabernet Sauvignon, but there are also layers of other dark fruits including blackberries, boysenberries, and mulberries.
Licorice in an underlying smell beneath all the fruit. Once tasted, the blackcurrants melt away into the sweet notes of strawberries and brighter berries like raspberries.
This is an intense wine that is rich and complex with chalky and tannic characteristics. It would pair perfectly with a beef or vegetable stew.
