2017 Limited Release Grenache
This is a blend of Grenache with a small amount of Syrah and Petite Sirah to give the wine a well-rounded mouthfeel and finish.
This is a fruit forward wine with heavy notes of strawberries and dark fruits. There were some oak stavettes used in stainless steel tanks, but not enough to overpower the wine. This harvest of this fruit was an early September 2017 morning, when the fruit was at ideal ripeness. The yeast used for inoculation was our CLOS yeast. The fermentation process of the juice was finished in two weeks with daily pump overs done twice per day.
The wine was then put through Malolactic fermentation (a process we put all of our red wines through) and racked off lees after finishing. The wine was aged in tank with minimum oak until bottling in February 2020.
The 2017 Limited Release Grenache has some spicy notes but with strawberry fruit in the background. We used neutral oak to allow the fruit to present itself naturally. This wine pairs well with lamb, or lighter meats, but is versatile enough to handle some richer foods as well.
